Southmoor's houses date mostly from the 1960s and 1970s, a mix of single-family homes and townhomes on lots up to a fifth of an acre. Kanemoto Park, at Missouri Avenue and South Pratt Parkway, carries the neighborhood's best known feature, a pagoda structure in a park named for a local farming homestead, and the Left Hand Creek Trail runs along the neighborhood's southern edge. St. Vrain Valley's boundary service places the Kanemoto Park end of the neighborhood in the Burlington Elementary zone and the trail end in the Indian Peaks Elementary zone, both feeding into Sunset Middle School and Niwot High School rather than Longmont High.
