Irondale

By Jessica Car · Updated April 2026

First settled in 1889 and named after a local foundry, Irondale is one of Commerce City's legacy neighborhoods. Mostly 1950s-era single-family homes on larger lots, across the highway from the 15,000-acre Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. The industrial heritage persists with auto shops and warehouses nearby, but wildlife refuge proximity provides an unusual urban-nature juxtaposition. Homes under $400K are still findable in the older stock.
