Hallcraft Homes recorded the first Walnut Hills filings in 1961, and thirteen plats later the neighborhood holds about 1,170 brick ranches, bi-levels, and tri-levels on fifth- to third-acre lots between S. Quebec Street and S. Yosemite Street, from E. Dry Creek Road up past E. Arapahoe Road. South Suburban keeps the ten-acre Walnut Hills Park on E. Davies Avenue, which includes a disc golf course, plus the 14-acre school park on E. Costilla Boulevard, and a greenway links the streets to the Little Dry Creek Trail at Arapahoe Road. Walnut Hills Community Elementary sits inside the subdivision and feeds Campus Middle and Cherry Creek High School. The Dry Creek light rail station is about a mile from the center of the neighborhood and I-25 is five minutes out.
