Acres Green

Construction started here in 1971 on former pasture south of County Line Road, the first housing tract in northern Douglas County, and ran through six phases over about twelve years. Ranch, split-level, and bi-level plans line streets shaded by spruce, fir, and pine, and the 2020 census counted 1,059 housing units across 0.60 square miles. The area voted against annexation when Lone Tree incorporated in 1995, so it remains an unincorporated census-designated place with city limits on three sides and Highlands Ranch to the west. Acres Green Elementary stands inside the tract and Sweetwater Park is a short walk south on Mercury Drive. C-470 runs along the north edge between the houses and County Line Road, putting I-25 about two miles east.
