Macanta lies in unincorporated Douglas County northeast of Castle Rock, outside the town limits, using a Castle Rock mailing address. Toll Brothers, David Weekley, Taylor Morrison and Lennar have built here since 2018, the Toll plans running 3,358 to 4,812 square feet and starting near $1.07 million on lots of 6,000 to 10,000 square feet. Streets take climbing names, among them Carabiner Street, Belay Point and Bivouac Point, off the Macanta Boulevard spine. The county's 450 acre Macanta Regional Park adjoins the community and will carry 11.6 miles of unpaved trail, joining 230 acres of Castle Rock open space at Cobblestone Ranch to form one 680 acre stretch from Castle Oaks Drive to Crowfoot Valley Road. Crowfoot Valley Road runs southwest to Founders Parkway and I-25.
