Columbine Hills is unincorporated Jefferson County with a Littleton mailing address, laid out around West Elmhurst Avenue just north of West Ken Caryl Avenue. Brick and wood siding ranch and split level houses built from 1970 to 1990 sit on lots of about 7,000 to 10,000 square feet, most of them on cul de sacs rather than through streets. Columbine Hills Park at 6001 West Elmhurst Avenue belongs to the Foothills Park and Recreation District, which also runs Clement Park and its paved 1.4 mile loop around Johnston Reservoir about two miles north. South Wadsworth Boulevard is a little over a mile west and C-470 is roughly five minutes south.
