Longmont's original town plat extends west from Main Street, built out between 1880 and 1940 with Craftsman bungalows, Queen Anne cottages, and foursquares on lots between 0.15 and 0.35 acres under mature shade trees. The area is not itself a single National Register historic district. Longmont's two listed districts sit on the east side, listed in 1986, and downtown, listed in 2017, though many west side houses carry individual Local Landmark status under the city's own preservation program. Thompson Park and Roosevelt Park anchor the neighborhood's edges, both a five-minute walk from Main Street storefronts, with Sunset Golf Course and its municipal pool a few blocks further south. Ken Pratt Blvd and US-287 reach the rest of Longmont within about five minutes by car.
