Eastlake grew around a townsite platted in 1911 whose blocks still carry 2nd Street and Lake Avenue, and county records show houses there dating to 1905. Around that core, Eastlake Village added 618 homes between 1981 and 2004, Eastlake Estates 114 in 1999 and 2000, and Eastlake Shores 87 from 2002 to 2004, a mix weighted toward 268 ranches and about 124 townhomes. Three neighborhood parks carry the Eastlake name, and the Eastlake Nature Area beside East Lake Number 3 is held as habitat with fishing closed. The Eastlake and 124th station, northern terminus of RTD's N Line since 2020, sits a walk from the old grid and reaches Union Station in about half an hour.
