Bucking Horse occupies two farmsteads established in 1868, the Johnson and Jessup farms, on the east side of Timberline Rd between Prospect Rd and Drake Rd. Building began in 2014 and the plan now holds more than 1,000 dwelling units, mixing Hartford Homes and Thrive single-family houses and townhomes on 0.08 to 0.15 acre lots with condos and apartment buildings. Jessup Farm Artisan Village anchors the north end with 25-plus businesses in restored barn and garage buildings, among them Bindle Coffee, The Farmhouse restaurant, and an indoor pickleball club. Community gardens, an edible landscape, a junior Olympic pool, and an internal trail network earned the plan an award from the Colorado chapter of the American Planning Association. Fort Collins High School is about 1.3 miles south, and the Spring Creek Trail passes within a half mile of the northern edge near Prospect Rd.
