Woodwest is a compact subdivision of 1980s and 1990s single-family homes on the south side of West Drake Rd between Shields St and College Ave, with lots of roughly 0.12 to 0.25 acres under heavy tree cover. Woodwest Park at 618 Powderhorn Dr, a wooded city pocket park with a small playground and sand volleyball court, sits between Woodwest and the Meadowlark neighborhood next to Beattie Elementary. Rolland Moore Park, with eight lighted tennis courts and a fourplex ballfield, is about 0.7 miles northwest at 2201 South Shields St, where it joins Ross and Fischer natural areas along the Spring Creek Trail.
