Highlands is a pocket of single-family homes built between 1965 and 1985 on lots of 0.12 to 0.20 acres, laid out around W 75th to W 78th Avenues along Newland, Otis and Pierce Streets east of Wadsworth Boulevard, with landscaping that has had four to six decades to mature. Lake Arbor sits to the northeast: the city's Lake Arbor Park at 6450 Pomona Drive allows fishing, paddle boarding and non-motorized boating on the lake, the 18-hole municipal Lake Arbor Golf Course stands at 8600 Wadsworth Boulevard, and the Lake Arbor Center on W 83rd Way runs an outdoor pool first built in the 1970s. Hackberry Hill Park at 7585 Teller Street is a short walk west. RTD buses run on Wadsworth 5 minutes away, and I-76 is about 10 minutes to the east.
