Alkire Estates sits at the corner of W 80th Avenue and Alkire Street in northwest Arvada, a small subdivision of one- and two-story single-family homes built from the mid-2000s onward on lots of roughly a quarter to a half acre, with an open green-space corridor running through the middle. The Youth Memorial Sports Complex at 7619 Alkire Street is a half mile south, and a 1-mile section of the Leyden Creek Trail runs on paved and soft surfaces on both sides of Alkire there. In 2026 the city finished an 8-foot detached trail along the west side of Alkire between W 78th and W 80th avenues, with a pedestrian bridge over the canal and a push-button flashing crossing at 78th. Wadsworth Boulevard is about 10 minutes east by car, and Blunn Reservoir inside Long Lake Regional Park lies a few miles southwest.
