Candelas covers about 1,500 acres at Arvada's northwest edge, laid out as six villages (TownView, SkyView, ValleyView, CanyonView, MountainView and ParkView) with a build-out plan of roughly 2,650 homes: 1,598 single-family, 785 multi-family and 268 attached, from builders including Tri Pointe, Shea, Meritage and Village Homes since 2012. Two swim and fitness clubs, in TownView and ParkView, anchor the amenity set, along with a dog park, a community garden and 13.5 miles of internal trails that put every home within a half mile of a park. Church's Crossing, Maverick Mesa and Haystack Plateau parks line W 94th Avenue, and Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge forms the northern boundary. Three Creeks K-8 opened inside the community in fall 2017. SH-93 is about 5 minutes away, Golden about 8 minutes and Boulder about 15 minutes by car.
