Lac Amora went in across six filings between about 1970 and 1985, giving the blocks ranch, split-level, bi-level, and colonial plans on lots near an eighth of an acre. Lac Amora Open Space wraps the subdivision and holds Josh's Pond, while Lac Amora Park and Richard Steele Park sit inside the street grid. US-36 runs along the southwest boundary, which puts the Interlocken business park under two miles out and Boulder roughly fifteen minutes northwest. Boulder Valley assigns this pocket to Aspen Creek PK-8 and Broomfield High rather than the Kohl and Broomfield Heights schools further east.
