Mid-century single-family houses from roughly 1955 to 1975 sit on lots of a tenth to a fifth of an acre in Daniels Gardens, the historic subdivision in northwest Lakewood that Daniels Park was built to serve. The park at 1315 Welch Street is a bluegrass flat with two baseball fields, four tennis courts, basketball, sand volleyball, horseshoe pits, a group picnic shelter and a half-mile trail loop that fills with league play through the season.
