Harvey Park lies inside the City and County of Denver, not Lakewood, east of South Sheridan Boulevard between West Jewell and West Yale avenues. Builders put up close to 4,000 homes here between 1954 and 1957, among them 170 designed by Cliff May with Chris Choate, which makes it one of the larger mid century modern tracts in the metro area. The 24 acre park that shares the name sits at Evans Avenue and South Tennyson Way with a recreation center, an outdoor pool, a lake, and football and soccer fields. Three lakes lie inside the neighborhood, and Denver Public Schools serves it, with Doull Elementary a few blocks from the park.
