Ranches, split-levels and townhouses built between about 1955 and 1970 line gently sloping streets that open west toward the foothills. Glennon Heights Park and Pool at 10600 W. Virginia Avenue runs a city outdoor pool with four 25-meter lap lanes, a one-meter board, a separate baby pool and a basketball hoop, open from late May to mid-August. Sutherland Shire Park, named for Lakewood's sister city in Australia, adds a picnic shelter and grill, a backstop ball field and a trail through a wooded drainage to Main Reservoir. Across S. Kipling Parkway, Addenbrooke Park spreads four ball fields, six soccer fields, tennis and pickleball courts, a horse arena and a lake around a free outdoor Fitness Court. Glennon Heights Elementary closed in 2023 and Belmar School of Integrated Arts now serves the area.
