Historic Downtown Morrison
By Jessica Car · Updated April 2026
The beating heart of Morrison, miners' cottages from the 1870s, mid-century ranches, and a handful of 1940s–50s infill tucked behind stone storefronts along Bear Creek Avenue. Lots are small, mature lilacs line the porches, and Bear Creek is audible from most backyards. The entire district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Walking to dinner, the museum, or a gallery opening is measured in steps, not minutes.
