Venneford Point takes its name from the fictional Venneford Ranch of the 1978 miniseries Centennial, which was filmed at the Highlands Ranch Mansion close by. The homes date from 1990 to 1998 and sit on lots of 0.20 to 0.35 acres, large for Highlands Ranch, with many plans between 3,800 and 4,500 square feet under mature trees. The Mansion grounds are now the Highlands Ranch Historic Park, a Metro District property of just under 50 acres with about 1.4 miles of soft-surface trail, open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Dad Clark Park is the other nearby green space. Highlands Ranch Parkway and Broadway frame the area, with the Northridge Recreation Center on Broadway, C-470 about 5 minutes north, and I-25 about 10 minutes east.
