Two-story, bi-level, tri-level and ranch plans from roughly 1965 to 1985 hold 1,300 to 3,300 finished square feet on lots of a tenth to a fifth of an acre. Smith Reservoir, the city open space at 10405 W. Jewell Avenue that older maps label William Smith pond, anchors the south end with fishing, paved walking trails and bicycle paths, and it is one link in a chain of reservoirs running north through this part of Lakewood. Lochwood Square, the retail strip on W. Florida Avenue, covers everyday errands within a few blocks. S. Kipling Street is the main north-south route out, and US-285 sits about ten minutes south.
