Houses built between 1970 and 2000, many above 3,600 square feet, sit on lots of a quarter acre to one acre on the rising ground west of Table Mesa. The NCAR Trailhead at 1850 Table Mesa Drive closes the west end of the street and opens the Walter Orr Roberts Interpretive Trail along with the Bear Canyon, Lower Skunk, and Kohler Mesa routes toward the Mesa Trail. Bicycles are not allowed on trails in the NCAR area, so the network here is walking and running ground. Table Mesa Drive runs east to Broadway in about three minutes and on to the US 36 and Table Mesa station at 5170 Table Mesa Drive, where Flatiron Flyer buses board for Denver.
