Heather Gardens opened in 1973 and now holds more than 2,400 condos, townhomes and patio homes on roughly 200 acres south of Yale Ave and east of I-225, organized into sections such as Country Place I through VI, the North and South Townhomes and Seville. The 2,461-yard, par 32 executive course loops through the grounds, and the 50,000-square-foot clubhouse at 2888 South Heather Gardens Way (opened April 2012) houses the Rendezvous Restaurant, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center and studios for more than 100 clubs and classes. It is an age-restricted active-adult community, and monthly dues of roughly $500 to $1,200 cover building maintenance and amenity access. The R Line's Iliff and Nine Mile stations are each under a mile away, and the Cherry Creek Spillway Trail leads into Cherry Creek State Park at the southwest corner.
