Del Mar Parkway runs from Colfax Avenue south to 6th Avenue between Dayton Street and Peoria Street, inside the original 1891 Fletcher townsite, and takes its name from the landscaped parkway that angles across the grid. Subdivisions such as Lydeva Heights, platted in 1952, set the pattern of 1950s brick ranches and two-bedroom bungalows on compact lots, with a few five-bedroom homes at the top of the range. Del Mar Park anchors the southeast corner at 6th and Peoria, Fletcher Park and Fulton Park sit at the west end, and Aurora Central High School is inside the neighborhood on 11th Avenue. Havana Street's commercial strip runs through the middle, Colfax carries frequent bus service along the north edge, and I-225 is about two miles east.
