Southshore occupies the ground immediately southwest of Aurora Reservoir, with homes going up since 2005 by Village Homes and a rotating cast of production builders in Victorian, Colonial, Craftsman and Farmhouse elevations on 0.10 to 0.25-acre lots, plus a townhome tier. Three amenity centers carry the theme: the Lakehouse at 27151 East Lakeview Drive with its pool and clubhouse, the Boathouse on the community's private lakes for paddleboards and kayaks, and the Lighthouse with a second pool, along with a dog park on the south end. The reservoir itself is an 800-acre lake filled in 1990, with an 8.5-mile paved loop, a seasonal swim beach and electric-motor-only boating. Fox Ridge Middle and Cherokee Trail High are under a mile southwest on Arapahoe Road, E-470 is about 5 minutes west, and the Southlands shops sit 2 miles west of the reservoir.
