Thunderbird Estates is a pocket of acreage lots on Aurora's eastern edge, between Gun Club Road and Harvest Road, south of 1st Avenue and north of Alameda Avenue, in the 80018 zip, well east of the Parker Road corridor. Custom homes and ranches from 1975 to 2005 sit on 1 to 2.5 acres with horse zoning, paddocks and cross-fencing along streets such as South De Gaulle and South Coolidge, and the HOA is voluntary at about $100 a year. The newer Traditions and Adonea subdivisions border it to the east, and the Vista PEAK campus, with the P-8 Exploratory and the Preparatory high school, is under a mile north at 6th Avenue and Harvest Road. E-470's 6th Parkway interchange is about a mile west, with I-70 roughly 8 minutes north.
