Homestead Park is one of east Arvada's postwar neighborhoods, a grid of single-family homes built between 1945 and 1975 on lots of roughly 0.15 to 0.25 acres, a few blocks west of Sheridan Boulevard around W 62nd and 63rd avenues. The city park that gives the area its name sits at 5640 W 63rd Avenue with a playground, two tennis courts, a combined tennis and pickleball court, a full basketball court, outdoor fitness equipment, and an open grass field. About a mile west, the Secrest Recreation Center at 6820 W 66th Avenue opened in October 2018 with a gym, a warm-water wellness pool, and an outdoor pool, beside the Apex district's Secrest Park and its inline hockey rink. Wadsworth Boulevard is a short drive west, and I-70 is about 5 minutes south by way of Sheridan.
