University Acres fills the blocks east of Stover Street between Lake Street and Prospect Road, a tract laid out from 1960 into the 1970s to house CSU faculty with ranch, split-level, and Colonial Revival plans of roughly 1,550 to 3,100 square feet on 0.15 to 0.25 acre lots, most with attached two-car garages. Lesher Middle School at 1400 Stover Street sits at its west edge, Riffenburgh Elementary is half a mile southeast on East Stuart Street, and the trees planted with the first houses now shade streets such as Robertson and East Pitkin. The CSU Annual Flower Trial Garden is about three quarters of a mile west along Lake Street, and the Spring Creek Trail passes through Edora Park, with its pool and ice center, half a mile south. Prospect Road runs along the south edge, Lemay Avenue is a few blocks east, College Avenue is a mile west, and Old Town is about 1.5 miles northwest.
