Highwoods is a gated enclave of roughly 100 homes on private streets off University Boulevard, built mostly between 1990 and 2000 with a mix of two-story and ranch plans that range from about 5,500 to more than 9,000 square feet on lots of a quarter to half an acre, most with walk-out basements and three- or four-car garages. The sub-association owns a clubhouse that is rented out for events, a private pool, and tennis and pickleball courts set in landscaped common grounds. Greenbelt corridors link into the wider Highlands Ranch trail network, and Kistler Park at 9603 Burntwood Way is the nearest Metro District park, with Toepfer Park and Sand Creek Park close by. C-470 is about 5 minutes north and I-25 about 10 minutes east.
