Old Town is the 1978 National Register district of roughly 26 acres and 38 contributing buildings between College Avenue, Mountain Avenue, and Pine, Willow, and Walnut streets, with Late Victorian and Romanesque Revival brick blocks such as the Avery Block of 1880 to 1897 and the 1905 Northern Hotel. Housing runs from 1870s Victorians on 0.08 to 0.20 acre lots to condos and lofts in converted buildings, from about $350K to $1.5M. Old Town Square, built in 1985 on the former 100 block of Linden Street and rebuilt in 2015 across 68,000 square feet, holds the stage, splash pad, and fireplace that host Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest and the Colorado Brewers Festival, with Library Park a few blocks southeast. MAX bus rapid transit leaves the Downtown Transit Center on Mason Street for 12 stations south to the South Transit Center, and Laurel Elementary is about a mile southeast.
