Acres Green sits in unincorporated Douglas County beside Lone Tree, roughly nine miles east of the City of Littleton, so it belongs with the Lone Tree profile rather than this one. Morris General Contractors broke ground in 1971 on former pasture near Interstate 25, making it the first housing tract in northern Douglas County, and the sixth and final phase closed twelve years later at 1,056 homes on 384 acres of ranch, split level and bi level plans. C-470 was cut through the middle of the subdivision in the mid 1980s, taking the original 1979 library with it. Lonesome Pine Park and Sweetwater Park, both run by South Suburban Parks and Recreation, sit inside the plat, and Interstate 25 and County Line Road are each about a mile out.
