Briar Ridge is an enclave of 31 custom homes on 10,000 to 15,000 square foot lots, built from 1978 into the early 1990s and held under covenants rather than a full service association. Most are four and five bedroom two story plans set back from a short loop that runs barely a quarter mile end to end, which is why the whole plat reads as one block. Ashbaugh Park is a tenth of a mile away, the Ivan Thomas Greenbelt about a quarter mile, and Carbone Park half a mile east. Heritage High School is a four tenths of a mile walk, Ridge Road is the nearest through street, and Broadway and Mineral Avenue are each about a mile out for the run to Santa Fe Drive or C-470.
