The Pinery is a census-designated place in unincorporated Douglas County that spans 6,670 acres along Parker Road (Hwy 83), which runs through the middle of it, 4 miles south of Parker and 4 miles north of Franktown at an elevation near 6,070 feet. The core HOA area holds roughly 1,800 houses built from the 1970s through the 2000s on lots from a quarter acre to 2 acres, and the 2020 census counted 11,311 residents across the wider CDP. The private Pinery Country Club at 6900 North Pinery Parkway sits at the center with 27 holes on its Mountain, Lake and Valley nines, nine tennis courts and three pools. Cherry Creek Trail has a trailhead on the west side, Bayou Gulch Regional Park and Ponderosa High School anchor the southeast, and Colorado Golf Club adjoins the northeast. Pinery Parkway and Bayou Gulch Road feed Parker Road, and E-470 is about 10 minutes north.
