Allendale is one of Arvada's largest single subdivisions, 1,085 homes between Ward Road and W 60th Avenue built from 1958 to 1971 in nearly every mid-century plan: ranch, bi-level, tri-level, multi-level and two-story, with 1,200 to 3,000 finished square feet and 1- to 3-car attached or detached garages. Lots run from 7,000 square feet to a third of an acre, there is no HOA, and more than 50 years of tree growth shade the streets. Ralston Recreation Area, with a soccer field and ball diamond, is 0.7 miles away, and the 20-acre Ralston Central Park with its splash pad and Ralston Creek Trail connection is 1.7 miles. The G Line's Wheat Ridge and Ward Road terminus, with a 290-stall park-and-ride at Ward Road and W 50th Place, is about a mile south, and I-70 is a 5-minute drive.
