Semper takes its name from an 1880s stage stop and rail depot at Pierce Street and W 92nd Avenue, founded by Charles Semper, who set the type for the first Rocky Mountain News in 1859; the Arvada neighborhood carrying the name lies just south of that site, between W 84th and W 88th Avenues east of Wadsworth Boulevard. Housing is single-family homes and townhomes built from 1960 to 1990 on lots of 0.12 to 0.20 acres under a mature street-tree canopy. Lake Arbor Park, with a fishing lake, paddle boarding and a playground at 6450 Pomona Drive, and the city's 18-hole Lake Arbor Golf Course at 8600 Wadsworth are both within about a mile. The Little Dry Creek Trail crosses north Arvada on its 6-mile run from Indiana Street to Sheridan Boulevard, RTD buses run on Wadsworth 3 minutes away, and US-36 and I-76 are each about 10 minutes.
