Lamar Heights fills the grid between W 72nd Avenue, Sheridan Boulevard, the Wadsworth Bypass and the rail line to the south, with brick ranches and split-levels built from 1960 to 1980 on lots of 0.15 to 0.25 acres. Secrest Recreation Center anchors the middle of the neighborhood at 6820 W 66th Avenue: a 21,500-square-foot building opened in October 2018 with a gym, a warm-water pool, an outdoor lap pool and an inline hockey rink. Four small city parks lie inside the same boundaries, among them Homestead Park with two tennis courts and fitness equipment and Thunder Cloud Park on W 72nd. The Arvada Center for the Arts marks the western edge on Wadsworth Boulevard, and two G Line stations bracket the south side: Olde Town Arvada at the southwest corner and 60th and Sheridan Arvada Gold Strike, with 330 park-and-ride spaces, at the southeast.
