Meadowglen is a 272-home Writer Homes subdivision from 1974 to 1983 wrapped around Pomona Lake, a few blocks north of West 80th Avenue, with heavily treed, winding streets and lots from 6,000 square feet to a quarter acre. Homes run 1,500 to 3,600 finished square feet with two-car garages, and the homeowners association, roughly $50 to $80 per month, owns the community pool, clubhouse and tennis courts and covers snow removal and recycling. The Dry Creek bike trail threads west from the lake toward Standley Lake, and Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge, 72 acres of ponds and uplands at 9210 West 80th Avenue and the smallest urban refuge in the national system since 1992, is within walking distance. Wood Run Park adds a climbing wall, and West 80th Avenue reaches Wadsworth Boulevard in about 5 minutes and US-36 in about 10.
